Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) and Software Defined Network (SDN) in a 1U 260mm x 302mm footprint
The size and cost optimized solution implements a high dense solution for Synchronous Digital Hierarchy providing four OC-3/STM-1 or two OC-4/STM-4 interfaces (252/336 E1/T1 framers and up to 8000 HDLC controllers) next to a multi-core Network Processor (4 or 8 cores) for Software Defined Network application.
The MicroTCA chassis NATIVE-mini with its compact dimensions of 260 mm width, 43 mm height (1U) and 302 mm depth, built in power supply and cooling units is designed for the insertion of up to two single full-size or mid-size AMC modules (Advanced Mezzanine Card). Due to its design it also aims for cost sensitive applications.
The NAMC-SDH is a telecommunication interface board in mid-size AMC form factor, targeting at telecom applications in SDH/SONET networks. It provides four SFP receptacles which can be equipped with SFP transceivers to achieve up to four STM-1 or two STM-4 interfaces. The onboard Kintex-7 FPGA is available for custom use and implements up to 8000 HDLC controllers by default.
The NAMC-QorIQ-P2041 is a multi-service quad-core network processor board featuring various Ethernet interfaces (GbE, 10 GbE), PCIe Gen2 and SRIO connectivity. It is equipped with both software-based processing resources in the form of the Freescale QorIQ P2041 and hardware-based resources featured by a Lattice ECP3-17 FPGA. For 10 GbE networks an eight core variant is available by the NAMC-QorIQ-P4080.
