HILLSBORO, OR - JANUARY 27, 2009 - Lattice Semiconductor Corporation (NASDAQ: LSCC) today announced that it has shipped more than 15 million MachXOT programmable logic devices (PLD) since their introduction just three years ago. Designed for a broad range of low density applications, the MachXO PLD family has been rapidly adopted by customers worldwide in a variety of end markets including consumer, automotive, communications, computing, industrial and medical.
“We use MachXO PLDs in our complete product range, from ‘multi-channel audio devices’ to ‘music performance controllers,’ because of their instant-on, high logic capacity and flexible user I/O benefits,” said Oliver Harms, Hardware Development Manager at Native Instruments. “MachXO PLDs are the best fit for our products because they help us meet the time-to-market and flexibility requirements of our designs and also provide a high level of system integration at an attractive price.”
Widely adopted in a broad range of applications that require general purpose I/O expansion, interface bridging and power-up management functions, the MachXO PLD family offers customers the benefits of increased system integration by providing embedded memory, built-in PLLs, high performance LVDS I/O, remote field upgrade (TransFR technology) and a low power sleep mode, all in a single device.

All MachXO PLDs are fully production qualified and have been shipping for three years. MachXO PLDs feature a broad range of densities, packages and speed grade options and are available for ordering via the Lattice online store at www.latticesemi.com/store and through authorized Lattice distributors at www.latticesemi.com/sales. MachXO PLDs are available for $1.25 for 256 LUTs (128 macrocells) and $2.00 for 640 LUTs (320 macrocells) in volumes of 250K units. About MachXO PLDs
The MachXO family of non-volatile, infinitely reconfigurable PLD devices is designed for applications traditionally implemented using CPLDs or low-capacity FPGAs. Combining an optimized look-up table (LUT) architecture with low-cost embedded Flash process technology, the instant-on, easy to use MachXO devices are the most versatile, non-volatile PLDs for low-density applications. Available in commercial, industrial and automotive grades, the MachXO PLDs offer 256 to 2280 LUTs, up to 271 user I/O and are supported in thin quad flatpack (TQFP), chip-scale BGA (csBGA) and fine-pitch BGA (fpBGA) packages from 100 to 324 leads.
